This week went by a lot faster than I thought it would. I was able to get out every day even if it was just for lunch. It has helped to build my strength every day. On Monday I went to lunch with my mom and after an hour I had to come home and I slept for 2 hours. Tuesday was Lily's dance recital and we were out for 3 hours. I was very tired at the end but I was so glad that I was able to go.
That same day as Lily's recital, Paige reacted to the Augmentin she was on for her cellulitis in her eyes and had hives cover her body. I was able to text back and forth with the Dr. and get her on some meds so that I didn't have to take her in. She is doing much better by today.
Wednesday was my post-op and we really didn't learn much more than what Dr. Mayes, ENT said to us Saturday. We did get the pathology report back and there were 6 out of 21 nodes he took out that were cancer. We thought that was pretty good but he did say that was a lot. He kind of burst my bubble. Dr. Mayes is done with me for now and my next appt is with the Oncologist. I have an appt June 24 and that is when they will determine what scan they want to see where the cancer has spread and then set up the next course of treatment which will be the radioactive iodine.
I just need to say thank you to everyone who has brought us meals, sent us cards, have donated to us on gofundme, and to those who are donating goods to the fundraiser at the Jerome Farmer's Market tomorrow. This has been a great week to see how my family and our community has rallied around us. We feel beyond humbled by the support. We never thought we'd have to be in the receiving end of so much generosity but we appreciate it so much. I told Curtis this will change how we give back to others for the rest of our lives.
Here is a link to the Farmer's Market. Thank you again.
